This year’s MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) has been postponed.

The organizers of the MAMA Awards had earlier published a list of nominees last year in December and subsequently, this got fans looking forward to the next event.

The organizers had taken a break since the last awards held in 2016 and decided to resume in 2021.

The award was supposed to commence 2021 in Kampala, Uganda.

But the organizers made the announcement on their official MTV Base Instagram handle, notifying fans of the postponement.

“MTV Base is postponing the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards. We will keep fans updated as we have more news.”

They didn’t give any reasons for the move but however, it could be because of the COVID-19 pandemic that the world has been battling for more than a year now.
