Even with Covid – 19 taking tolls on peoples and events globally, the 2021 Oscars are scheduled to take place April 25 (after being postponed last year), and today, the shortlists of music nominees have been revealed.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are shortlisted twice for their work Mank and their collaboration with Jon Batiste on Soul. They include Janelle Monáe, Mary J. Blige, H.E.R., Ludwig Göransson, Christina Aguilera, Alexandre Desplat, Robert Glasper, Sacha Baron Cohen, and more.

Find the complete shortlists below; John Legend and Diane Warren both have two entries on the Original Song list. Legend’s are from the films Giving Voice and Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, and Warren’s are from The Life Ahead and The One and Only Ivan.

Legend previously won an Oscar for Selma’s “Glory.” Warren has not won an Oscar but has been nominated 11 times.

New rules for Oscar nominations dictate that films that debuted on streaming services are now eligible. A new set of eligibility requirements for Best Original Score allow for scores where “at least 60 percent” of the music is new.

At last year’s Oscars, Parasite won Best Picture, Hildur Guðnadóttir won Best Original Score for Joker , and Elton John won Best Original Song.
